Joan Newton Cuneo was the first female racing superstar in the United States. From getting her first car in 1902 to racing her first race in 1903, Joan was a trailblazer. Joan's racing career started on the beach at Ormond, FL and she continued to race on the beaches, tracks, and roads over the next decade. She held her own against the men and fought for women the opportunity to race.
